Government of West Bengal · Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Department

Basanti Government Industrial Training Institute Affiliated to NCVT, Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India
Est. 2016 MIS Code: GR19000146 Admission 2026–27

Infrastructure & Facilities

The campus, the workshops and the support facilities that training depends on.

The campus

Built for training, not adapted for it

The institute occupies a purpose-built campus at Uttar Sonakhali, with a two-storey academic and administrative block, dedicated workshop space for each trade, and open ground for assembly and sport.

An ITI is only as good as its workshops. Affiliation under the Craftsman Training Scheme requires each trade to hold a prescribed list of tools, machinery, instruments and consumables, and to provide a stated floor area per trainee. Equipment is maintained and issued against a register, and every practical session begins with the safety briefing the syllabus requires.

Facilities are kept accessible: ground-floor workshops where possible, ramp access, safe drinking water and separate sanitation for male and female trainees.
